Description
PCB for an 8 Bit Octave Synthesiser.
Create huge glitchy basslines, sizzling synth leads and robotic malfunctions from your guitar or bass.
Sub Bass, Up, Down and Base controls, to generate glitching square waves at different octaves & a Filter control to tame and shape this malfunctioning machinery.
Extra Features:
Flashing LED output: I wired the spare outputs of the downtuning chip to some LEDs (D5 & D6). They don’t add anything to the sounds, but they do flash at different speeds depending on the input frequency.
Experimental Mods:
I added a few open points in the circuit to enable independent processing of the channels. To use these, the Send & Return should be sent to extra jacks, to use with external effects, or insert your own circuit in this space. Otherwise short the indicated pads for normal operation
Send & Return on the Base Channel (Short SND & RTN pads for normal operation)
Send & return on the Sub Channel (Short BSND & BRTN pads for normal operation)
Additional Filtering for Sub Channel (Short BSND to F1in & BRTN to F1out)
Master Send & Return for external filtering (Short MSND & MRTN for normal operation)
