Kerbal Space Program: Wernher von Braun 1950’s Concept Vehicle

Finally! A chance to demo the Kerbal Controller.
Rather than just run through its functions, I ended up making a there and back trip to the Mun, testing out one of Wernher von Brauns early concept Vehicles.
I hope you enjoy.

I believe von Brauns origional concept was for a vehicle like this to take astronauts to LEO (Low Earth Orbit), where they would assemble a large space station that would act as an observation and refuling platform for the actual trip to the moon.

"Man and The Moon"

With hindsight it may seem a little crazy, as Apollo IV ended up making the trip in 1969 using a single launch vehicle, the Saturn V Rocket and Apollo spacecraft, designed under Warnher von Braun’s direction, however in 1955 Sputnik was still 2 years away from being the first man made object to make it to orbit.
So it’s impressive that this vehicle works as well as it does, at least in the totally valid and scientific world of K.S.P.
