Description
PCB for The Gargle Blaster BBD Dual Mode Flanger.
Effect similar to “Having your brains smashed in by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick”
This is the analog BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) flanger that truly lives up to its name. Two independent delay lines for a thick effect that can evolve into self oscillations and feedback if you take one too many shots.
It has everything you expect of a flanger, based on the classic Boss effect of the 80s, LFO rate, Regen/Feedback, Depth and Manual, however it also has space for a 2nd footswitch. This footswitch enables the 2nd delay line, instantly doubling the flange effect for the less-than-subtle needs.
Our favorite way of using this effect is to keep the single flange effect quite subtle, then use the doubler for the times we want a deep flange. The single effect can also be set thicker, and the dual mode can be set to start feeding back and oscillating for those experimental noise and psychedelic moments.
This is a fairly complex build, and should not be attempted by beginners. It will require some tuning of trimpots to achieve the correct output.
